I really think it's genius to discount eBooks like publishers have been doing, even if it's not the first in a series. Do you realize how many more books I buy now that I'll never have the chance to read, but yet I keep buying them...because it's so cheap! It may not be best for the authors, but the publishers have got to be seeing some nice rewards.
Beggars in Spain by Nancy Kress [$0.99] - The original novella won the Hugo and Nebula Awards and this novel was nominated for both.
Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill [$1.99]
The Whitefire Crossing (Shattered Sigil #1) by Courtney Schafer [FREE] - I absolutely loved this book last year. (review)
Dawn of War (Blood War Trilogy #1) by Tim Marquitz [FREE]
The Black Prism (Lightbringer #1) by Brent Weeks [$1.99]
The Killing Moon (Dreamblood #1) by N.K. Jemisin [$1.99]
Leviathan Wakes (Expanse #1) by James S.A. Corey (with The Dragon's Path by Daniel Abraham included) [$1.99]
Feed (Newsflesh #1) by Mira Grant [$1.99]
Let's hear it for The People's Joker

Nice! The Killing Moon & Leviathan Wakes are near the top of my must-read list . . . and The Black Prism has been lingering there for longer than it probably should.
I've been meaning to read Leviathan, Dragon's Path, and Black Prism for a while and still nothing. I'm a terrible blogger.
You are an amazing reader! I love reading too, and playing games, thanks for sharing!
Wow. Great prices on some great books! Thanks for sharing!
I love it when publishers and authors put books on sale too. Not just because it means that I can get them more affordably, but because it's easier to convince my roommate to go buy a copy so that she can read it and I can stop bugging her to read it!
@Spaz - I feel like I should really be apologizing since I helped to lighten your wallet! :D
@Bibliotropic - I completely agree and good call there. I need to start using these as leverage for friends. :)
