xkcd.com is very famous online, and I have followed it for a long time. And Cara, I recognize your brilliance.... not that it is much help!
This is so true, at least for me. On my blog I have a whole 10 comments, and 20 automatically generated spam comments.
As you already know, some settings for science fiction are often contrary to known reality but the majority of science fiction relies on a considerable degree of suspension of disbelief, which is facilitated in the reader's mind by potential scientific explanations or solutions to various fictional elements. 23jj
