It isn't every day that I repost news, as I usually leave that to Michael and his Weekly Roundup. Today is different. Every now and then I stumble across something that just puts a smile on my face and screams to be shared. A while back it was XKCD's take on Ender's Game, which for any one who has read the books, is be hilarious - subtle but hilarious. Anyway, you get the idea.
This time around, I want to share something that is both incredibly funny and has lots of potential down the road. Svudu has started a cage match between the brightest heroes of speculative fiction - bracket style and winner take all. The details are still a bit sparse, but the fights are shaping up to be memorable indeed. A little teaser take from the cite foreshadowing a match between [Kahlen Amnell] v. [Drizzt Do'urden]:
Kahlen Amnell v. Drizzt Do'urden. Drizzt Do'urden wins by a hair. This one is tough because that dude that wrote Sword of Truth clearly was into D&D since its inception (cop that photo in the back of his books and you will know exactly what I am talking about). He only left the D&D community because of two other, more important letters bifurcated by an ampersand: S&M. His desperate and painfully transparent need to be dominated sexually drove him from the largely sexless D&D community and into writing masturbatory S&M fantasies for himself. D&D guy wins...argument from origin.
... and that was just form the comments section.
The list of contenders seems a bit lacking - no one from the Malazan series is present. Then again, Karsa Orlong might just make the whole competition a foregone conclusion... Check out the Cage Match @ Svudu, pick your favorite hero, and we can start laying down some odds.
Do you have an all-time badass that isn't included on the list?

I voted for Locke over Rand, you'll probably hate me for that Alec, but there's really no way for Locke to win. :)
Alec,
I have discovered it too :) and I agree with you that this is totally awesome!
But no problem. There is enough stuff for the Roundup....
@Bryce I am disappointed in you.
A couple that are missing that need to be represented:
From Malazan Book of the Fallen-
Whiskeyjack
Ganoes Paran
Quick Ben
Anomander Rake
With Rake taking on all takers and Quick Ben getting 2nd place.
@Tyson - I was just thinking the same thing. Where's the Malazan guys? But are there still another couple brackets that need to be released?
it's a good idea and most of the people can't ignore this factor. All is about credibility and this blog has been doing an important activity about it, specially with this kind of affairs.
