Free eBooks from Baen

I'm sure you already know about Baen's Free library. I always knew about it, but could never get myself to read a whole book on a browser. Well, and this is probably something you already know as well, but it's also really easy to download any of their free library directly onto your eReader.

Here are a few of the free books I just downloaded:

There Will Be Dragons by John Ringo (Always wanted to read this, but this cover's bad even for Baen)
On Basilisk Station by David Weber
Sheepfarmer's Daughter by Elizabeth Moon
1632 by Eric Flint

There are also plenty of other high profile authors I haven't read, but that I'll be checking out such as Mercedes Lackey, Lois McMaster Bujold, and David Drake. Thought you might want to know if you didn't.

I didn't realize they could deliver straight to your e-reader now. Neat!

I used to use their free library like crazy when I had jobs that would allow me Internet access and were slow. I could get through a novel or two a week that way, sometimes. It was great!

I believe downloading them straight to your eReader can incur charges from Amazon, but I could be wrong.

I download them onto my PC and send them across with the USB cable. :D

That is if your eReader is a Kindle, of course :p

The Fifth Imperium is another great source of free Baen e-books. The webmaster has made all the content from the Baen CD-ROMs distributed with select titles available for free download. Baen doesn't run the site, but they're aware of it and it opperates with their blessing.

Thank you for posting this, I'm currently in the reading limbo. I'm sure I'll be able to find something to read!

I downloaded the files in .mobi to my computer and then used the USB. I know you can email yourself files for the kindle, which is pretty cool.

Thanks for the heads up Memory and hope you find something Miss Awkward. :)
