Centering the Shelf - August 26, 2021 - Weekly Update

I like doing these weekly updates, essentially a reading vlog, to keep a record of what I'm thinking about each week and my progress, even though slow sometimes, for reading. Featuring Terry Pratchett, Jim Butcher, Will Wight, What We Do in the Shadows and MORE!

My TBR for the Next Period of Time - July 2021

Here's my TBR, but instead of a direct reading order I would call it more of a pool, a TBR pool to choose from. These ones are at the top of that pool. Because pools have tops, wow, I'm struggling here.

As always, please like, subscribe, tell me how crappy these videos are, anything you like. Thanks!

eBook Deals - Moon, Pratchett/Baxter, Goodkind, Brooks

I just finished my review of Emperor of Thorns, but I have to take another look at it before it goes up. Yes, contrary to popular belief, I do edit my reviews. :) Not well, but that's beside the point. Here are a couple deals going on right now, looks like Baxter and Moon are lucky to be on this list which covers just about all the Terrys:

[$0.99] Trading in Danger (Vatta's War #1) by Elizabeth Moon - OTBSFF review.
[$1.99] The Long Earth (Long Earth #1) by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter
[$1.99] The Long War (Long Earth #2) by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter

eBook Deals - Pratchett and Lynch

Two great authors have books on sale today. I mentioned a couple posts ago that The Lies of Locke Lamora was more than worth the normal price and now it's a steal. I bought it again, just in case I might want to reread it electronically. Plus, I'm gobbling up these Pratchett books too. I've read the first couple and like so many things, I need to get back to the series.

[$0.99] The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch

Today Only:
[$1.99] The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett
[$1.99] The Light Fantastic by Terry Pratchett
[$1.99] Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett
[$1.99] Mort by Terry Pratchett
[$1.99] Sourcery by Terry Pratchett

eBook Deals, or Books I Bought Recently

Sadly, I missed posting the deal for Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell yesterday. I'd say it's worth full price anyway as it's easily in my top 10 all-time favorite books list. But, some good ones came out today that I'm right on top of.

[$3.99Tears in Rain by Rosa Montero - I'm definitely intrigued after reading Justin's review.
[$1.99] Winner Lose All: A Lando Calrissian Tale by Timothy Zahn - In preparation for Zahn's upcoming novel, Scoundrels, which looks really cool to say the least.
[FREE] Wool by Hugh Howey - This is the first tale (novella length) in the Wool series, might as well try it out.
[FREE] The Complete Sherlock Holmes - Most of the novels and short stories are free anyway, but only individually. This collects them all with the books chronologically and then the short stories chronologically. However, the books and short stories together are not chronological, but I still think this is your best bet.

Today Only:
[$1.99] The Color of Magic (Discworld #1) by Terry Pratchett
[$2.99] The Ruins of Gorlan (Ranger's Apprentice #1) by John Flanagan

EDIT: Also, all the deals in these last two eBook deals posts are still underway: Post 1, Post 2.

eBook Deals, or Books I Bought Recently

I know the title says "or Books I Bought Recently," but that's not always the case. It was at first and I buy a good many of them, but not all. The ones I already own in paper, I don't tend to buy unless it's an extremely good deal. I just can justify that yet, not to mention I still enjoy paper reading more than eReading. I thought I should make that clear although I wish I could afford all these Discworld books that are listed below.

Talion: Revenant by Michael A. Stackpole ($4.99)
Shades of Milk and Honey by Mary Robinette Kowel ($2.99)
Night Watch by Surgei Lukyenenko ($3.99)
Tales of Wonder and Imagination edited by Ellen Datlow (anthology) ($1.99) - Features authors such as Stephen King, George R.R. Martin, and Neil Gaiman.
Hawkwood and the Kings by Paul Kearney (omnibus) ($5.87)

Quite a few Discworld books are discounted, I don't think they're likely to go any lower since it's such an established series. Although I could be wrong. I listed the number of the book in the series, but for the most part, that doesn't matter.

The Light Fantastic (#2) by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
Equal Rites (#3) by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
Sourcery (#5) by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
Pyramids (#7) by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
Guards! Guards! (#8) by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
Reaper Man (#11) by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
Witches Abroad (#12) by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
Lords and Ladies (#14) by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
Men at Arms (#15) by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
Interesting Times (#17) by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
Feet of Clay (#19) by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
Hogfather (#20) by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
The Last Continent (#22) by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
The Fifth Elephant (#24) by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
Going Postal (#33) by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)

Non-Discworld:
Strata by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
The Dark Side of the Sun by Terry Pratchett ($5.29)
